Meet Monika & Becky
Hi! I'm Monika.
I was born and raised right here on the shore and love raising my two girls here too!

I have been working in birth since 2008. I became a certified professional midwife (CPM) in 2019 and started my homebirth practice, Althea Midwifery. I have a passion for not only homebirth but also helping all families prepare for an empowering birth experience and started Mind, Body, Baby, and Beyond as a prenatal education, labor and birth prep and postpartum planning service.
While I am incredibly passionate about birth and helping build families I am also passionate about building community and connecting families to local resources. When Becky and I connected we discovered we shared the same passion and started the Growing Families expo in 2023 and has since grown into so much more!

I'm Becky co-founder of Growing Families and the owner of The Village Lactation. I have a blended family with 5 kids at home ranging from teenager to toddler.
I've been an IBCLC since 2019, as well as a postpartum and end-of-life doula. Before I became a lactation consultant I worked in the elder care community for over a decade.
When I had my first child in 2014 I ran into breastfeeding issues, as well as many of my friends having kids at the time. That's where the shift happened where I realized I could make a difference for families- so I did just that. I became an IBCLC and opened my private practice in 2020. As time went on I knew there was more I could do for my community. That's where Monika and I met and Growing Families was born.
